Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards along with O'Neil are two of the initial candidates in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend after the squad's ten-game winless start to the Premier League season.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have previous links to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton Town manager - who made over a century of games for the club during his time as a player - is considered a leading candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they begin the process of appointing a new manager.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise contender, although he would be a shock choice given he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United player is out of work meaning Wolves would not need to pay any buyout fee.
