Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry title that players explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for delighting in action and madness with similar enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, socially charged narratives. Little surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two creators whose creations have exemplified all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game property, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by having a new location and ensemble in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX partners always encourages me with their steady belief and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every title is a take of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the essence of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, visionary approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
